Hi, my friends in Sicily shared their limoncello recipe with me: 1 bottle alcohol (grain), 1 kilo sugar, 1 liter water and the thinly sliced skins (only the yellow part) of 8 large lemons. Put alcohol and skins in a sealed glass jar for 7 days. Strain, reserve liquid. Stir in sugar and water. Finito! Too strong? Add 1/2 liter more water. They recommend not heating the mixture when adding the sugar and water; too flammable. Store bottle in the freezer and serve extremely cold. I have had many a shot of this. Enjoy! [Thanks for the comparison. I agree that the alcohol mixture should not be heated. Heat the water, only, when dissolving the sugar to make the simple syrup]
Your limoncello recipe is great. However, I found that using the cheesecloth is excessively messy. I tried using a Bodum coffee press, and it worked great. There was almost no mess, and when I was done I put all of the parts in the dishwasher. [An interesting option, thank you for the idea]

They are all anxiously awaiting our contribution to dinner, which is dessert and Limoncello, of course! Thanks again for the great recipe. We are going to make batch #5 tomorrow, I hope. Funny read. I will try this when I get home.
Tried your recipe twice, now. It is absolutely THE BEST Limoncello we've ever had. The web site is a lot of fun. Thanks for the fun and giggles. Jim and Michele [Jim and Michele have been emailing me on a regular basis about their Limoncello adventures. I appreciate their comments and invite anyone who has tried my recipe to let me know how they feel. You can't beat home made!]

I found this site by accident. I'm trying to find a recipe for cremoncello. If you know of one can you send it to me at gerrie.cowden@morganstanley.com Thanks. [From what I have found, all you do is substitute milk for the water. I suggest trying this with HALF of the recipe for the first try]
Hi! The 'No one can make you feel inferior without your consent' quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt. I used to have it hanging above my desk. [Thanks, you're right, at least according to Google!]
John -- Glad to see you had a great adventure! Looked for the blackmail photos ~~ didn't see 'em. Take care and thanks for your support while at A7. Eric
