Chocolate Chip Cookies

Return to Recipes

This recipe was provided a co-worker, Katja, and the cookies are really good.  I look forward to the days that she brings cookies in to share.  If I catch her as soon as she gets to work, the cookies are still warm (because she makes them fresh in the morning).  It took some work to get the recipe out of her but, here it is, for you to try.

2 ½ cups (590cc) Old Fashion Rolled Oats

2 sticks of Butter – Softened

2 cups (470cc) Flour

2 Eggs – room temperature

1 teaspoon (5ml) Baking Soda

1 cup (235cc) Granulated Sugar

1 teaspoon (5ml) Baking Powder

1 cup (235cc) Brown Sugar

1 teaspoon (5ml) Baking Soda

1 teaspoon (5ml) Vanilla Extract

112oz (0.35kg) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

       1) Grind the rolled oats in a food processor until powdered

2) Mix the first set of ingredients (on the left) together

3) Mix/whip the second set of ingredients adding each ingredient   separately

4) Blend the two mixtures together in a large bowl

5) Add the chocolate chips and mix it all together

6) Place the dough in your refrigerator for at least 1 hour

7) Grease a cookie sheet (or use a silpat)

8) Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F

9) Place chunks of dough, slightly smaller than a golf ball, onto the cookie sheet

10) Leave plenty of space between cookies

11) Flatten each chunk of dough, slightly

12) Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown

13) Allow to cool

14) Eat

Enjoy!
